From Jacue4u2c

Lovin' this...
The first five people to respond to this post
will get something made by me, especially for you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make but I hope you will.

2- What I create will be just for you.

3-They say I have a year to get it to you. But I promise it will NOT take that long.

4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It’s a surprise to both of us at this point.

The catch? You must repost this on your blog and
offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog.

So the first five people who post, and are willing to pass it along,
will get a handmade gift in the mail from me.

When you get it, make sure you post a pic on your blog!

Backstreet's Back Alright!

I have said this before I am saying it again I love the Backstreet Boys I am what you call a dedicated fan! I have liked them since I was 17 and I am 30 now! They come out with a new album about every 2 years (even though they hardly play them on the radio they are still going strong)! This week they came out with a new single (woo hoo)! The new album don't come out until Oct though (along time if you ask me)! Anyway I am going to keep requesting them until they play them again if they don't I will always keep the Backstreet Pride Alive!!

What about dessert?

My son always ask me this question! The answer is chocolate wontons! That is right chocolate wontons! I got this recipe from a newsletter and fixed it to my liking! And for the past couple years it has been a favorite at many picnics! All you need are some wontons (found in the frozen veg section at your local grocer)Then get some Hersey kisses any flavor( I personally like the swirl) then for added kick some powdered sugar and chocolate syrup. You put the kisses in the wonton and then wrap up just like the directions say and then fry in oil. After they cool off put powder sugar on top! I then put the chocolate syrup on the side for dipping! These have gotten great reviews and they are SO EASY, enjoy!

I hate phones!!

My husband and I have a contract with one of those phone companies ya know who I am talking about! Anyway for the past week his phone keeps "butt" dialing (we say that because of the commercial it is so funny)it is driving me crazy the phone at home rings constantly the answer machine will pick up and I can hear him working and laughing and whatever else he does at work but the worst part is it does it about 5 times a day and even when he is at home it dials by itself he was in the other room when the phone rang the other morning and it was him! (and he had no clue)What is making it do this? Then last night I went to turn my cell phone off and it froze (and usually when it does this I just take the battery out and put it back in and it will be fine) No, No not this time it just DIED!! Did you hear me DIED nothing on nothing flickered what happened? I have all my numbers (of friends with cell phones on there) all my pictures are GONE! Why did both are phones go out within a week of each other it just doesn't make since. I ordered new batteries for both and we are going to try that if that don't work I found out we can order new phones on Friday when our contract is up! But I like my little pink phone now I have to start over!*Update* I got a new battery and my phone is WORKING NOW, and my husbands not so good still so he still wants us to get new ones:(

Taking time for the Birds!

I just recently bought a bird feeder and sat it outside our back door. The birds have been flocking on it like there is no tomorrow! I took my son and my sister to the bookstore and they found a book where you can look up birds by color it is the coolest thing because my son whom is five can find the bird we see outside, then after he finds it we read about it together (his favorite is the Cardinal Bird but what do you expect when that is our favorite football mascot also)! It is a really fun activity to do and we enjoy looking at God's creation so don't let time fly by take time to watch the Birds!

School Pictures

What is with school pictures are they just destined to be bad? Is there a law that says I don't care who you are your school pictures are going to be terrible! My son is five and from the time he was born we have taken him every year to get his pictures taken (plus the pictures I take of him). And it is the same thing year after year they are always so good that I end up buying every pose and more than I need. Well now that he has started school I figured we just buy the school pictures WRONG!! They were terrible who is this? Not my cute little boy who never takes a bad picture his first school picture made him look like he had a double chin then he had spring pictures think they are any better, not really! I guess we will have to keep going out once a year to get them done professionally because school pictures don't do justice to my cute little boy , I also will keep snapping away! Speaking of pictures I found a few of some famous guys before they were famous some of them don't even look like the same people take a look at it, it's pretty funny! I guess everyone has some bad pictures in their day!

A tribute to Natasha Richardson

This story just makes me feel so sad! I didn't know her I've seen her movies but I didn't know her likes and dislikes. I do know she left behind a family a husband and two children which breaks my heart. I hear she fell and was okay and hour later had to be rushed to the hosptial. That is scary, witnesses said she was laughing when she first fell and the next thing you hear she is in the hosptial and brain dead. I personally don't like skiing I remember going on a field trip in 6th grade and I couldn't get up every time, I tried to ski and I swore I would never go again (and I haven't)! I found this article about her entitled Doctor: Natasha Richardson May Have Suffered 'Talk and Die' Syndrome “I can only speculate, but it sounds like something we call the ‘talk and die’ syndrome,” said Dr. Steven Flanagan, director of Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at New York University’s Langone Medical Center. “What this implies is that someone hits their head and they are seemingly OK initially," he told FOXNews.com. "But then they get a rapid collection of blood — usually called epidural hemorrhage — and that means bleeding between the skull and the brain. For the rest of that article go to http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,509586,00.html Is skiing really safe should helmets be worn? I think if a person is new at it and inexperienced they should have to wear a helmet. That is really awful condolences to the family!

Barbie turns 50!!

Years ago I played Barbies! Unlike the girls today that are growing up to fast I was one of those girls that played Barbies until I was at least 13! My friend and I would go in my room and play all day long! My mom would have to get us to take breaks for lunch and dinner. I say I had over 30 Barbies of my own and the newest was always my favorite!I cant believe she turns 50 this year! Barbie has taken many hits during the years as an article entitled Barbie turns 50 by Elise Nersesian says because of her wrinkle-free with impossibly perky boobs (after all, she's never breastfed)! But lately Barbie gained weight in her waist and her breast size shrank, sending the message to parents that she would no longer represent unattainable ideals. Then in mense of all this she has sold over 1 million dolls. It is funny but growing up I never thought I want to look like her and despite all the jobs she had I don't ever remember ever pretending she was doing a job she was assigned to. Barbie is now a happy part of my childhood and when I think back it helps me remember happiness and imagination and isn't that what childhood is about. Now that I am older I collect certain Barbies and for a limited time you can Barbie for its original price of $3.00! (I got one from my mommy)!! So congratulations Barbie you sure look good for your age!!

Feeling Sick?

(I copied this picture from my sister's page)!!
If it is not one thing it is another. First my son was sick with a fever for 4 days! I took him to the doctor and they said he had a virus and it was going around. A week later he feels better but still congested and coughing! Now my husband wakes up and cannot go to work because he has Bowel problems. Can we ever be well. So far I only had a touch of the virus (just stuffy) and I hope I don't want to get the Bowel problems. I try to stay healthy anytime someone in the family (or someone we know) has been sick I take an Airborne or an Ermegen- C! What is Airborne it is (according to their website) http://www.airbornehealth.com/about_index.php the best-selling herbal health formula that supports your body's immune system. It was created by a former second-grade school teacher, Victoria Knight-McDowell. Go to their website and it they will even send you a free sample And Ermegen- C according to their website is http://www.emergenc.com/ It offers 7 mineral acsorbates deliver 1,000mg of Vitamin C in a non-acidic formula that revs up your immune system. Tons of B vitamins give you natural, non-caffeinated energy.and it now comes in kid doses! Go to their website and they will even send you a free sample too (and it comes in lots of flavors)! If you think it is alittle pricey I have found CVS and Walgreens (and problary other drug stores) carry an off brand (which I get alot) taste the same for half the price. I don't know yet if it helps you NOT get sick but I know if you get you do you will not feel near as bad as the person who did not take it did because it boosts your immune system, That is how it worked for me!

11th Anniversary!!

We'll Saturday was the Hubby and I's 11th Wedding Anniversary boy how time flies. This year we decided to go to Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville, IN. It is a really neat experience! First is the food buffet which gives you a salad bar and a selection of country foods like roast beef, green beans, carrots and a roll. There are also a few other selections of meat and vegetables. After dinner is the show we saw Lucky Stiff (kinda like the movie Weekend at Bernie's) but it has more twists! At intermission if you pay for it you can get a dessert my hubby and I paid in advance to get an anniversary cake then we got sundaes to go with it! I think it is a great deal you get to go to dinner and a show so I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something romantic and fun to do!

Hat or No Hat that is the question?

Kenny Chesney without and with his hat!
Tim McGraw without and with his hat!

I have always LOVED country music, Tim McGraw is my favorite male country singer! Yesterday I came across a picture of him without his hat he stills looks like Tim handsome as ever. So that got me thinking what do other country stars look like without their hats so I looked up Kenny Chesney (which by the way I am not crazy about anyway) but anywho I came across his picture and I was floored he dont even look like the same guy he justs looks well scary. If he is going to go out in public again he best not even go out without his hat! Tell me what you think.....

Is it safe for my son to eat snow?

Every time it snow we have to go out and play, but the first thing my 5 year old does is he grabs his pail and says he is making snow soup and pasta then it is into the mouth to sample his creations and of course mama (me) of course also has to try it! But I was just wondering as I try it is this really safe? We'll I decided I would do some homework on this one and I found an article called Is Eating Snow Still Safe for Kids? It is from the website Safety Issues which is really good for questions mom's have about their child's safety. I copied the article so everyone could read it, if you want to see more the web site is http://www.safetyissues.com/site/

The article is as follows...
One of the simple pleasures of childhood is eating snow. For some time, parents have warned kids to stay away from dirty snow (particularly yellow snow). Parents are now wondering whether it is still safe for kids to eat new-fallen snow. The reason? Snow contains large quantities of Pseudomonas syringae, a type of bacteria that causes diseases in tomato and bean plants.

A scientific paper published in Science reports that microbes are more common in snow and rain than originally thought, but they also have a powerful and important role in the dynamics of climate that produce precipitation.

Although water is normally thought to freeze at zero degrees Celsius, pure water vapor in the upper reaches of the atmosphere will freeze only at temperatures colder than -35 degrees Celsius. In order to freeze at warmer temperatures, it is necessary to have nucleators — tiny particles around which water vapor will gather and freeze.

The researchers discovered that the most common nucleators are not fine dust (as traditionally thought) but bacteria, and among such biological nucleators Pseudomonas syringae is the most widespread.

The researchers analyzed 20 samples of snow taken from various places around the world, including even remote places such as Montana, the Yukon and Antarctica. Bacteria levels were high in all the samples.

Scientists have wondered what the effect of the bacteria would be on health. The author of the study, in effect, asked whether the P. syringae is a good guy or a bad guy, and then said he does not have the answer to this question.

This unanswered question thus leaves parents wondering what to do. Experts say there is not much cause for worry.

The bacteria is very ubiquitous, clarifies a member of the committee on infectious diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Children practically bathe in bacteria every time they are in the playground, and what they get from snow they also get all the time from dirt.

All food is covered with bacteria, and people eat bacteria all the time, says a member of the committee on environmental health of the same pediatric academy. But most of the bacteria are killed in the stomach. For the most part, people are safe from the bacteria.

Some exceptions are noted. Babies and tots on formula don’t have enough acid in their stomach to kill the bacteria. People with cystic fibrosis also are vulnerable to Pseudomonas.

Most reassuring of all, there are no clinical reports about children becoming ill from snow eating.

Safety Tips:

• Licking the snow off the kid’s glove is likely to be fine. A “meal” of snow is probably not a good idea.

• Refrain from eating a lot of snow. It also contains particles from ordinary air pollution.

• Catching a snowflake with the tongue is OK. Eating snow that’s on the ground is not OK.

The question is let me know do you let your kids eat snow? I think it would be fine in moderation! If you do not let them eat snow how do you tell a sweet face don't eat your snow soup and pasta after they made it for you?

Mother knows Best!!

I love making YouTube videos. I wish I could paid to do this, I try to make new ones weekly I can't always because I run out of ideas or time. But anyone can check them out on my page at http://www.youtube.com/user/VIDSBYME78 Here is one that I wanted to post because it is on peoples minds. It is entitled Get Well soon! It talks about how Brian Littrell's (from the Backstreet Boys)little boy Baylee was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease! It basically is an illness that involves the skin, mouth, and lymph nodes, and most often affects kids under age 5. The cause is unknown, but if the symptoms are recognized early, kids with Kawasaki disease can fully recover within a few days. Untreated, it can lead to serious complications that can affect the heart. Their little boy is 6 and they took him to the doctor who thought it was strep throat. Then his symptoms got worse and they had to take him somewhere else to get the RIGHT diagnoses. My boy is 5 and this just makes me wonder when the doctor diagnoses something how do you know when it is right or when to seek extra advice? It also shows me a mother's intuition, Leighanne (Brian's wife)knew her little boy wasn't getting better so they took him elsewhere. If you think your kid is sick don't hesitate if you need to get a second opinion a mother knows best!!

Can I do it?

It is almost our Wedding Anniversary again! Boy another year has flown by! Anyway my husband and I were thinking we would like to go to the theater and to dinner this year. I found a place were you can go see a show and have dinner there before the show all for about $100.00 which is not bad but considering my job situation right now and just the necessity's of life that is a lot of money. So here is what I am going to try to do I usually spend about $100.00 a week on groceries, my challenge is I am going to TRY to only spend $100.00 dollars on groceries for 2 weeks. Can it be done? Considering all the snacking we do and my little boy wanting to take his lunch to school twice a week it will be a hard but I really want to do this! If you have any advice let me know:) I will tell you how I do!!

The Battle of the 2 Coffees!

Are you looking for a cheep good coffee? I will admit Starbucks is good but is really worth the $.4.00? I personally want to say no! Just Saturday I went to McDonald's and got (my favorite) cappuccino for under $3.00 . I just want to say I think it is just as good (if not better)! McDonald's even asked me if I want regular or nonfat milk (so I can stick to my diet) *just like Starbucks*! I recently saw a sign that McDonald's advertised that said "Four bucks is dumb." I agree with this I want to say this is just my opinion but I know we are all struggling through this tough economy why spend more for something (if you can get it cheaper and just as good)?

On such a winter's day!

I am so tired of being stuck in we have had a winter ice storm and advised not to go out (so we didn't). I think I am going stir crazy. My son has been off school all week and we decided we would scrapbook, I have gotten so far behind. I scrapbooked my 10th anniversary party my sisters and mom gave me. It was a surprise my husband and I didn't even know it. A lot of our friends were there it was really awesome!! My younger sister played songs on here guitar for a gift to us (so sweet)! My mom and older sister worked really hard planning our party.

What are you watching?

I love American Idol and have been watching it since season 1. I guess my favorite winner would be Kelly Clarkson so far. 2 seasons ago my sister and I got to go to one of the shows when the idols went on tour it was really cool. We got to get Blake Lewis's autograph (he should have won) we voted for him over and over. This year American Idol came to my hometown (in Kentucky) I am to old to try out (and Simon probably wouldn't like me anyway) but it is cool to see our state on there. I don't know who I like this year yet, last year I liked Jason but he didn't go as far as I wanted him to (his brother is in it this year)! They also have a new judge this year named Kara DioGuardi she is really feisty so she fits right in. I guess Americans (like me) love this show it peaked at number 1 on it's debut this year. So I will watch the bad (which are hilarous) and the good who will be the next American Idol?

Sadie, "Our little princess"

(Well you read about Precious so this is continued from that). After Precious died my son said mom we need to get a new dog I said eventually Well I decided to go on Criagslists to post some things that I had for sale, while I was on there I noticed a listing for dogs well I got curious and decided to look at it. I didn't see anything, as I was about to go off the page an add caught my eye free dog to a good home so I clicked it, it said that a shitzu, brussel griffon mix was free to a good home so I emailed the lady and she emailed me back and told me that she had rescued her that she just couldnt take care of her so I asked her to send a picture. Soon as she did my son fell in love with her, I said we would see. It said along with her picture "Sadie" good dog a little timid. My son said she is white I will change her name to Snowball. Well we agreed to go meet the lady. When we got there the lady explained that she was timid again and said she was a little scared of men. Well guess who she liked first? My husband, she kept trying to go to him. As you guessed it we were hooked we adopted her right away and we decided to keep her name Sadie because she was actually cream colored not white. Her full name is Mersadie Jane (I call her Sadie Jane)! Now she is part of the family I have a son so I call her my "daughter" and since I can't put bows and dresses on a little boy I do it for my dog. I bought her a shirt that says mommy's little girl and my son wanted one and we actually found one on vacation that said mommy's little boy. So now I have a boy and a "girl" And you will never believe what I found out just yesterday, Sadie means PRINCESS!

Our Dog "Precious"

Precious was a Cocker Spaniel. I got her when I was in 9th grade (I said she is so Precious that is how she got her name) we had been through so much together. When I would come home from a crazy day of High School she would be there ready for me to love on her. She was there when fell in love and came home to tell my dad my boyfriend had proposed. So naturally when I got married I brought her with me. My husband knew how important she was to me (after all she was there when we were dating). So there was no excuses for her not coming home with us! She became our instant "baby". 5 years later when our first son was born everyone said she would be jealous, but she never was she was content sleeping at the edge of the bed as I fed the baby coming up for a snuggle every now and then. When she was about eight years old she got catarax and starting going blind in one eye and then eventually in the other. She didnt let it stop her she jumped over baby gates and bumped into walls but she was still just as sweet. Over the next couple of months her hearing went to wear she heard knocking like 20 minutes later. She was getting old but I just couldnt let go! Finally one night she was having a hard time breathing I just held her and noticed she couldnt move her neck she had a stroke. I just held her and told my husband I dont think she is going to make it. And she didnt, she died that morning. We cried and cried. My husband took off work and my sister called and told me would could bury her on her hill. This made me feel really good to know she would still be with family. On the way to my sisters we stopped at Feeders Supply when we were parked there, there was a car next to us with a dog in it my son says that doggy is in the car my doggy is in the trunk! Out of such a bad sitiuation we all laughed. We got her some goodies to put in her box. Finally at my sisters we had a little funeral for her and said our goodbyes. She will be missed and always be "Precious" in our eyes. Dogs truly are a man's (or in this case a woman's) best friend!

Backstreet Boys

I have been a Backstreet Boys fan for 14 years (and counting)! I know what you are thinking a 30 year old still a fan of a "boyband". But the truth is they are so much more than that. I remember it like yesterday my friend came over and said, "I want you to listen to this group I think you will like them!" I said, "I really don't want to but I will." So I listened to them, I thought well they are okay then she began to play more and more until we listened to them everyday! Then one day they were coming to the local venue (just a small place downtown). We bought tickets and waited for that day finally it arrived, we'll neither one of us drived and my mom was sick and my dad had things for work to do. My friend fussed we will never get there, at the time I really didn't care I was just a little fan and if we didn't go we didn't go. My dad agreed he would take us and give us taxi money for home. We'll we got there and had the time of our lives and it turns out another friend and her mom were there and they took us home. After that I WAS HOOKED!! I have been to a concert for each of the tours bought every album and even traveled to other city's to see them. I also finally got to meet them briefly. For those who say this band is for little girls need to wake up I am the same age as some of the members we have "grown" together (got married, lost friends, had a family etc.) so listening to their music means more than just listening to a "boyband" it means my Past,Present and Future!

Marriage according to kids!!

Well the other day I was talking to my friend she told me that her 8 year old daughter asked her if it was okay to marry someone 3 years younger and she replied yes your dad and I are 8 years apart. She was excited and said she was going to marry my son who is 5 when she gets older. So I told my son that she wanted to marry him and he replied we are going to get married! One day another girl asked to marry him and he said you can be my girlfriend but I am marrying "the other little girl". Kids are funny!!
